Reminiscences of childhood in Connecticut; surveying work in Minnesota; education at the University of Michigan; travel and studies in Europe; teaching in the Department of History at the University of California, Berkeley; formation of the Department of Political Science, and description of the early university; travels in Mexico; interest in Spanish American history; the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, 1896; work as member of the First Philippine Commission; travels in Japan and India, etc. (285 leaves). Also included: copies of letters from Eric C. Bellquist and Philip E. Lilienthal re Moses and re possible publication of the autobiography.
